- Autumn / Winter 2006
Dear
friends,
I
hope you are all well and had a fantastic Christmas.
Firstly
an apology. I should have written this months ago,
but somehow never quite managed to get round to it.
Now, as the minutes tick down to 2007, I am determined
to get something out before the year is through.
It's not that I'm lazy. It's just that a new baby
tends to slightly get in the way, I mean altar your
priorities. In case you're wondering, her name is
Jemima and she is gorgeous, especially when asleep!
See for yourselves below.
Other than that, I have had to get my head down to
try and finish the third Tom Kirk thriller in time.
As I think I told you last time, the working title
is The Napoleon Seal (this will change!)
and it sees Tom reunited with Jennifer Browne. She
is investigating a New York art forgery ring while
Tom has uncovered a plot to stage a daring heist from
the Louvre by former rival Milo. As the two cases
come together, they uncover a two hundred year old
conspiracy to cover-up a shocking crime.
I'd love to tell you more, but I owe it to my editor
to let him see it first. However my wife, a surprisingly
fierce critic, has read it and tells me it's her favourite
so far, so fingers crossed that he and you like it
too!
As for The Black Sun, it was published in
paperback in the UK and in hardback in the US earlier
this month. So far, thanks to you and on the back
of some good reviews (see below), it seems to be doing
even better than The Double Eagle, which
has been very exciting.
Finally, just wanted to mention that in a few weeks
time I'm relaunching my website with lots of new content,
easier to use navigation and, with much trepidation,
a blog! Do check in and let me know what you think.
Right, must go. Big Ben is going to start chiming
at any moment and I want to get this out.
With my very best wishes for 2007 and happy reading
