Newsletter - Autumn / Winter 2006

Dear friends,

I hope you are all well and had a fantastic Christmas.

Firstly an apology. I should have written this months ago, but somehow never quite managed to get round to it. Now, as the minutes tick down to 2007, I am determined to get something out before the year is through.

It's not that I'm lazy. It's just that a new baby tends to slightly get in the way, I mean altar your priorities. In case you're wondering, her name is Jemima and she is gorgeous, especially when asleep! See for yourselves below.

Other than that, I have had to get my head down to try and finish the third Tom Kirk thriller in time. As I think I told you last time, the working title is The Napoleon Seal (this will change!) and it sees Tom reunited with Jennifer Browne. She is investigating a New York art forgery ring while Tom has uncovered a plot to stage a daring heist from the Louvre by former rival Milo. As the two cases come together, they uncover a two hundred year old conspiracy to cover-up a shocking crime.
I'd love to tell you more, but I owe it to my editor to let him see it first. However my wife, a surprisingly fierce critic, has read it and tells me it's her favourite so far, so fingers crossed that he and you like it too!

As for The Black Sun, it was published in paperback in the UK and in hardback in the US earlier this month. So far, thanks to you and on the back of some good reviews (see below), it seems to be doing even better than The Double Eagle, which has been very exciting.

Finally, just wanted to mention that in a few weeks time I'm relaunching my website with lots of new content, easier to use navigation and, with much trepidation, a blog! Do check in and let me know what you think.

Right, must go. Big Ben is going to start chiming at any moment and I want to get this out.

With my very best wishes for 2007 and happy reading

The new arrival!

Extract from USA Today review
"Art thefts, a missing train, Russian gangsters, secret identities and plenty of blood and gore. There's something for thriller fans of all types in James Twining's new thriller, The Black Sun ... Three incidents kick off a thrill-a-page-story that has the CIA, treasure hunters and Neo-Nazis hunting for a missing train said to be filled with priceless treasures stolen from Nazi-overrun countries during World War II ... The Black Sun is pure unadulterated fun."
